The blame game is getting old

Good day dear comrades. It has been a while since I posted anything, but life has gotten in the way unfortunately. I intend to post articles and stories on a more regular basis going forward.

The news is really depressing. I don’t know if it is just my feed, but the algorithms have picked up on my interest in content that highlights the shit state of our beloved country. Or maybe there is just nothing good to report on? Who knows. Anyway, I feel that we are in a death spiral, and I hope that the end result is a positive outcome for everyone in Mzansi.

So now to the actual reason for this article. I really hate the mainstream media comrades. Both the local outlets such as News24, as well as their European counterparts, such as the BBC and DW. I have blocked all suggested articles from News24, because they are just garbage, and even if there is something interesting, you can’t read it, because it is behind a paywall. I really don’t know why you would ever pay for such trash. Rather go give the R109 monthly subscription money to a car guard or something.

For some reason, I keep on giving the European outlets a chance, but they always end up disappointing me. I like to be abused apparently. My problem with these outlets (and News24 for that matter) is that their articles are never balanced. It is one-way traffic, with no room for an explanation or reasoning.

The never-ending blame game

I read this article about schooling issues in the Western Cape yesterday. It is a sad (but very regular) story of a family living in a township, who wake up at some ungodly hour to travel very far to go to school. The reason the families usually do this is because the township schools are dangerous and shit. Nothing new. I have probably read 1000 articles with the same narrative.

According to the article, the reason for this is apartheid of course. Fuck me. I cannot stand this anymore comrades. It looks like as long as the ANC is in power, every failure on their part, is the fault of apartheid. Shit schools? The legacy of Apartheid Bantu education. No electricity? The Apartheid government did not adequately plan to serve the growing black population. No water? Ditto. Crime? The economic disparity caused by Apartheid drives people to steal and kill. I am so sick and tired of this kak, and I wish that someone would beat some sense into these people.

The worst for me is that the foreign mainstream media entertains this kak. This article should have read “Failures by the ANC government force parents to seek alternative schooling”. But no. It is always, black, white and apartheid inspired rubbish.

No accountability, just blame shifting

Instead of taking one on the chin, and admitting that they have fucked up our beloved country, the ANC keeps on blaming whites, apartheid, the DA, America or whoever they feel like at the time. There will always be some inquiry into something, led by a massive commission, and in the end this leads nowhere. Just another day in South Africa.

The mainstream media, such as News24 and the Europeans, also enable this bullshit. They are the ones who keep on bringing up the past. They do this shamelessly and with no repercussions. The population has been so manipulated, that they believe everything that is said online.

I am waiting for the day when an ANC politician will admit that they were in the wrong. I guess the person will be immediately suspended from the party. One thing that is true, is that the mainstream media will never cover something like that. It is really sad, and I am starting to lose hope.

My two cents

I want to make a difference to our beloved country. I believe that there is so much potential, we just need the right leadership and vision. We need strong leadership and a ruling party that leads by example and does not steal, loot and destroy and then blame it all on apartheid.

I can promise you that no one wants apartheid back. What we want is a better life for everyone, and equal opportunities for everyone. We want this terrible cycle of poverty and hopelessness to end.

As long as the ANC keeps on ruling, nothing will change comrades. Make sure to vote them out, otherwise we will keep on reading the same depressing news everyday. Until next time comrades.
